Scott Coker talks Strikeforce buyout with Bas Rutten
Scotty Coker sits down with El Guapo to talk up the sale of Strikeforce to Zuffa. Buyouts are covered, rumors debunked, eyebrows are raised. Perhaps unsurprisingly,Coker seems a lot more open to inter-promotion matches than Dana White, as he gets in touch with his inner fanboy by reeling off a list of potential UFC vs. Strikeforce matches that almost MMA fan should be pretty damn excited about.
One of the more interesting tidbits is at 6:38 when Bas asks if Fedor and M-1's ridiculous contract demands were the reason behind Strikeforce's sale--something Coker doesn't really deny outright, though he does say that Fedor has "added value" to the Strikeforce brand name. So do we chalk up Strikeforce assimilating with Zuffa to the "Fedor Curse" that has seen every organization Emelianenko has ever competed for fold like a house of cards? Hmmm.
